My free horses and ponies bookmarks feature Christmas images of horses and ponies with timeless horse quotes suitable for you to give to any horse lover as an extra little gift this Christmas.
For each set you will see a thumbnail of the free horse bookmark design with the quotes available on that design set out on the right. Just click the quote you like to access the printable bookmark that contains that quote.
These are two-fold bookmarks with a place to put “To…” and “From…” on the back. The fold is on the right for greater strength and you can glue the two sides together if you wish. For a more permanent bookmark I suggest laminating. You can buy clear plastic lamination sheets from most office supply stores.
If you prefer we also have a page of assorted single side bookmarks with six of our free horse bookmark selections printable on one page. They are slightly smaller and have a copyright notice on the front.
Here’s to you, Stocking and Star and Blaze.
You brought me all that the best could bring-
Health and mirth and the merriest days
In the open fields and the woodland ways-
And what can I do in return but sing
A song or two in your praise.
~Will H. Ogilvie
A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!
~William Shakespeare
Some glory in their birth,
Some in their wealth,
some in their body’s force.
Some in their hounds and hawks,
some in their horse.
~William Shakespeare
To many, the words love, hope and dreams are synonymous with horses.
~Anonymous
The hooves of hooves!
Oh! witching and sweet
Is the music earth steals from the iron-shod feet;
No whisper of lover, no trilling of bird,
Can stir me as much as hooves of horses
Have stirred.
~Will H. Ogilvie
A farmer’s horse is never lame, never unfit to go.
Never throws out curbs, never breaks down before or behind. Like his master, he is never showy.
He does not paw and prance, and arch his neck, and bid the world admire his beauties…
and when he is wanted, he can always do his work.
~Anthony Trollope
I love the horse from hoof to head
From head to hoof and tail to mane
I love the horse as I have said
From head to hoof and back again.
~James Whitcomb Riley
The essential joy of being with horses
is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements
of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire.
